Our Home at Sindlesham

When the Province was originally erected during the Great War and for many years thereafter, our regular meetings were held at the Guildhall, Windsor. The Province had to adapt to the Second World War, and its aftermath, and first by necessity, then by design met at various venues.

From 1941 the Province met variously at:

Mark Masons’ Hall, 71, Kingsway, London
10 Duke Street, St James's, St. James's, London SW1 (The premises of the Ancient and Accepted Rite)
The Masonic Temple in Church Lane, Windsor
The Masonic Temple at 76 Ragstone Rd, Slough
The Masonic Temple at Winchester Road, Chandler's Ford
The Guildhall, Windsor.

On 16th October 2010, the Province moved to Berkshire Masonic Centre, Mole Road, Sindlesham, Wokingham where it has met every since and which we now gladly call our home.

In the picture of the Temple, the Castle (painstakingly built by Bro Peter Dyke), the Provincial Sword (presented by Bro D P Hutchings) and Holy Bible (presented by Bro Reginald Goodall) are clearly visible

The premises are used by a very large number of Craft Lodges, Royal Arch Chapters, Mark Lodges, and many units of other Orders in Freemasonry. The Berkshire Masonic Centre is very much the hub of Freemasonry within the Province of Berkshire, and the permanent staff all take pride in the high degree of professionalism exhibited in the service which they provide.

The Brethren of the Province are indebted and deeply grateful, to the Provincial Grand Master for the Craft Province of Berkshire, his Officers and the members of staff for being able to use such fine facilities. We are proud to be able to call Sindlesham ‘Our home’.

The Royal Order of Scotland is an unincorporated body with its headquarters at 23 St John Street, Edinburgh.
