Welcome to the Royal Order of Scotland’s Website.

Every meeting of the Royal Order of Scotland could, in theory, take a dramatic turn. Beside the Chairman a seat is left empty, except for a robe, crown, and sceptre, in case the hereditary Grand Master, the King of the Scots, should decide to take up his place.

Since the King of the Scots is the Grand Master of the Royal Order, the Chairman of the Order has the title of Deputy Grand Master and Governor and Brother Ewan Rutherford was appointed to that role on 4th July 2020.

Due to the coronavirus restrictions, we do not have an up to date photograph the one above was taken 5th July 2019 and shows Brother Sir Archibald Donald Orr Ewing, Baronet, in the regalia of Deputy Grand Master and Governor sitting between (L to R) Bro. Rev. Canon J.C. Lindsay, Grand Chaplain and Bro. J.M.M. Humphrey of Dinnet, Deputy Governor.

The Royal Order of Scotland is an unincorporated body with its headquarters at 23 St John Street, Edinburgh.
