Visit to the Province of Gibraltar

On Monday 18th March a Deputation from Grand Lodge comprising:

• Brother Ewan Rutherford, Deputy Grand Master and Governor;
• Brother Alan Dickson, Grand Secretary; and
• Brother W. Raymond King, Grand Marischal.

travelled from Edinburgh to visit the Province of Gibraltar.

After a quiet afternoon, the Deputation was collected by Bro. Arturo Perera, the Provincial Grand Secretary, and taken to the Royal Gibraltar Yacht Club for an informal and enjoyable "meet and greet" with Bro. Anthony Maria Cassan, the Provincial Grand Master for the Province of Gibraltar and members of the Province.

On the morning of Tuesday 19th March, the Deputation was treated to a fascinating tour of Gibraltar by Bro. Maximillian Torres. This included a memorable visit to St Michael's caves.

Later in the afternoon, the Deputation was taken to the Masonic Centre in Gibraltar for the meeting of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Gibraltar. The Deputation was warmly received and treated to a well-executed exemplification of the Rosy Cross. Bro. Ewan Rutherford (Deputy Grand Master and Governor) presented diplomas to Brethren in an entertaining and informative manner. After the meeting, the Deputation joined the Brethren at the Royal Gibraltar Regiment Association for an excellent meal in a convivial atmosphere.

On Wednesday 20th March the Deputation travelled back to Edinburgh with many pleasant memories of the Provincial Lodge, its members and Gibraltar as a location.

The Deputation extend their warmest thanks to Bro. Anthony Cassan, the Provincial Grand Master and the other members of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Gibraltar for arranging such an excellent visit. 

Thanks as well to Bro. Maximilian Torres for taking time out of his day to show us around the sights of Gibraltar. Finally, the members of the Deputation thoroughly appreciated the thoughtful gifts presented to them and will be a reminder of a very successful visit.
